Sew and Tell #9

I have 2 finishes for the week. Hang on you might say that photo doesn't look like a finish. But I am participating in the 'On the Road to Spring' quilt-along organised by Randi over at 'I have to say'. This was the finish required for Week 2 - cutting your fabrics.

This is my 'real' finish for the week. I started this before Christmas but other more urgent projects pushed their way to the top. I finally got this quilted and bound. Fabrics are all Wonderland from Moda. The tumbler blocks were all made using a pattern from Crazy Mom Quilts/Moda Bake Shop and used in 3 other Christams presents. This one was the proto-type for the Christmas gifts.

Click on the button on my side bar and check out lots of other great finishes over at Amy's.

Catch you later,

Karen

I love the tumbler pattern--stunning colors. Nice work.

I feel like sometimes cutting everything out is more time consuming than the sewing. It def. counts as a finish. :)
I love your runner. The straight line quilting is so fabulous!

I agree, there is so much work in cutting out, that it definately counts as a "finish"! I am liking the colour combination, much more daring then I would ever do, so I am looking forward to seeing the end result, as i sure it will inspire me to step outside my comfort zone! Your table runner is very funky!

Cutting out fabric for a quilt is defiantly a "finish". I cant wait to see more of the quilt though as the fabric choice looks drool-able!!

Karen, both of your finishes are great. I think the required cutting of fabric counts as a finish. I LOVE your table runner. The border fabric is awesome! Is that part of Wonderland? The fabric choices, the tumbler pattern and the quilting of the runner make it gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Your tumbling blocks table runner is beautiful! I have not ever made that pattern, maybe I should try it.

I love that scissor fabric. It makes me want to cut and sew things! Nice work, it looks great (both the runner and the neatly cut stacks :o)

I love table runners! This one is so beautiful and different... in a good way. :)

(I secretly did make a whole quilt with pumpkin seed blocks, but it's a present for someone so I can't blog about it. For a long time I can't blog about it. Sad.)

The polka dot border is great.
The cut strips look very promising, I like the colors. Make sure to share when you are done the top.

This runner looks so awesome! I love it. I am in completely awe of quilters. I am a total wannabe. I've only tried 2 and they both kinda came out wonky (part of their charm, I say. LOL). Yours look so professional. WOW!
